Description

Pencil Hugging is a small zine which collects found imagery of a variety of pencil huggers.

Pencil huggers were a popular vehicle for branding back in the 1980s. They are small plastic toys, often covered with fur, with a pinching action in the front paws/arms. They were meant to be clipped onto pencils primarily but can also be clipped onto a variety of things, like curtains, vine plants, clothing or hair.

This zine comes with a miniature koala pencil hugger which is shown in the first image.
(You will receive a tan or grey koala at random)

The koalas are approx 1.75 (back to finger tips) x 2 (head to butt) x 1.5 (side to side) inches in size.

The zine is 4 x 5 when closed and is 16 pages long (including cover) and contains 7 spreads + front cover and back cover. Three of the seven spreads are shown in the photos here.

1st (and maybe only?) print run of 100
